Street Fashion Illustrated

Illustration

I can't believe I only just learned about Lactose Intoler-Art. Illustrator Brandon Reierson has been drawing and posting his street fashion characters since 2008. His work has since been featured on Topman.com and a few street fashion websites.

His characters remind me of older and hip version of Rugrats! I collected some of my favorites and incidentally picked the ones with glasses!

United Colors of World Cup

Design, Illustration, Art, Event

Even though I'm not really following the World Cup, I really enjoy finding the work that people put together inspired by it.

Erik Marinovich designed this type inspired by both the World Cup and Flag Day. I found it over at Friends of Type.

Go on Flickr and you'll find a sea of photos, illustrations and doodles centered around the World Cup. This particular one is a favorite of mine by Loops!

Hyperakt, a NYC-based design firm, designed an awesome radial bracket poster that will be updated with all official final results. With $25 you can help fund them to get it printed and reserve one for yourself. Donate at Kickstarter.com

What's your favorite part of the World Cup? Is it the vuvuzela?

Finish Line

Design, Illustration

I really like the new illustration by Chris Ware on the cover of The New Yorker. A friend of ours introduced me to his work many moons ago. Sometimes I imagine how much fun it'd be to live inside his illustrations. In this particular one, I'd want to be the girl trying to catch the blue ribbon. I'm sure I'll beat the guy and make him cry too. Just kidding.
