By now you've probably seen the trailer for the upcoming Coen Brothers movie, A Serious Man. Aside from the tension-building beat of a man's head banged against the chalk board, did you notice everyone (almost everyone) in this movie got some serious glasses? I want all of them.

Printed Matter at GR2

We headed over to GR2 not long ago to check out the Printed Matter 6 art show. About 50 artists participated and displayed their affordable, limited edition prints. We saw some familiar work from Little Friends of Printmaking, Susie Ghahremani, Sidney Pink, Saelee Oh and many others. The show ends on August 8, so there's still time if you haven't checked it out yet.

826LA Paddle Boat Regatta

826LA is a wonderful non-profit organization that provides drop-in tutoring, after-school workshops, in-schools tutoring, help for English language learners, and assistance with student publications. This weekend they are hosting their 2nd Annual Paddle Boat Regatta at the Echo Park Lake to raise money for their free writing and tutoring programs.
