I Swear to Good You Are God at This

Design, Book, Art

So the time for gift giving has passed, but it's never too late to give someone a gift of inspiration. Plus, the new year is the right time to hit that "start" button and finally pen down those ideas you've always wanted to do. Our friend, Dave Brown and his San Diego-based creative hub, Holiday Matinee just put together a 72-page book called I Swear to Good You Are God at This.

Aligned with Dave Brown's mantra "Love Your Work. Work Your Love.", the book features some of the most talented artists and designers who simply turn what they love into brilliant and fun projects. It's the perfect gift for someone (or yourself!) who needed that creative push to get started. You can preview and buy the book, here.

Look-Back Monday (err Tuesday) Part 5

Music

Oops. Forgot to post this yesterday. Here's the last part of our Look-Back Monday, a five-part retrospective of the music Dave and I listened to the most throughout 2009. Check out part 1, 2, 3 and 4, if you missed them. Next Monday we'll return to our regular Music Monday playlist program. Yay!

Renegade Craft Holiday Sale 2009

Event

We were supposed to rest before leaving to San Francisco in the early morning of Friday, but I was too excited (and anxious) for Renegade Craft Holiday Sale that I couldn't sleep. I went over my to-do list again and again, worried that I'd forget something. With very little sleep we left around 3 AM and rolled in to San Francisco around 9 AM.

Our days at Renegade Craft started on Saturday at 8 AM. It took us about 3 hours to get situated in our spot on the first day. We were located right in the middle of two awesome artists: Hambone Designs and Cara Lyndon, whose jewelry I just came across at BUST Craftacular a week before. Right at 11 AM, the doors were opened to the public and people of all ages, babies, dogs and a stuffed octopus on a man's shoulder filled up the Fort Mason Herbst Pavilion. It was so nice to meet everyone who came by our booth and chatted with us. Hello again, if you're reading this!

This was our first time selling at Renegade Craft and we had a great time. I was also thrilled to meet the people whose work I've seen all over the internet in person. Here are some photos we took at the show:

One of my goals was to get one of My Imaginary Boyfriend's brown log pillow. Alas! I wasn't quick enough. They were sold out by the time I came by. Here are the birch log pillows:
