Pics from the 3rd Annual Renegade Craft San Francisco

Event

We've finally downloaded the photos we took over the weekend at the Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco and what a fun weekend it was.

Our neighbors at the show are the super nice and all smiles, all day Misha Ashton from Portland, Oregon. These are just some of her lovely photos:

and Clinton Reno, an amazing illustrator and poster artist from Ohio. His booth set up is so simple and clean.

There were a ton of people (and dogs!) on both days but I had enough time to walk around and check out other vendors.

United Colors of World Cup

Design, Illustration, Art, Event

Even though I'm not really following the World Cup, I really enjoy finding the work that people put together inspired by it.

Erik Marinovich designed this type inspired by both the World Cup and Flag Day. I found it over at Friends of Type.

Go on Flickr and you'll find a sea of photos, illustrations and doodles centered around the World Cup. This particular one is a favorite of mine by Loops!

Hyperakt, a NYC-based design firm, designed an awesome radial bracket poster that will be updated with all official final results. With $25 you can help fund them to get it printed and reserve one for yourself. Donate at Kickstarter.com

What's your favorite part of the World Cup? Is it the vuvuzela?

PALATE

Food, Art, Event

Last week I took my car to the shop for a regular service. While waiting for my car, I walked over to the Scion Art Space to check out Palate, an art exhibit that brings food into the art gallery. From vintage candies, Los Angeles based burgers to pink wedding cakes (with fangs!), it's the only art exhibition to make my mouth water.

My favorite from the show was Martha Rich's wall of dessert mini paintings. They're so colorful, cheerful and irreverent!

Hmm Clare Crespo's salad is so fresh, it "knits" no dressing.
