Drawing 36

We Made This

Here's the drawing that made into one of the graphics on the cover of Longshot Magazine Issue One:

And here's another drawing we submitted:

The theme of the issue One was "Comeback" and thought of the idea when a pencil breaks in two, you "comeback" with two pencils! Hehe.

Longshot!

Design, Illustration, Web, Magazine

If you haven't checked out Issue One of Longshot Magazine, you have to!
Here's why:

"Over a 48 hour period from noon August 27, 2010, through noon August 29, 2010, hundreds of writers, editors, artists, photographers, programmers, videographers, and other creatives from all around the world came together via the Internet, and in offices in Los Angeles, Portland, and San Francisco to make a magazine from start to finish."

The result is a 60-page magazine of original content art directed by Keith Scharwath. That's not all, within that 48 hours, they also build the Issue One website and made a t-shirt that you can buy from Shirt Woot! for a limited time.

"It's an experiment to use new tools and erase old media limits". THAT is something we can really get behind. We're happy to have made a small graphic contribution, which you can see on the cover of the magazine. Can you guess which one?

If those are not compelling enough reasons to check out the magazine, you can preview the pages here, learn more about the process here and see the behind-the-scene story, illustrated wonderfully by Wendy MacNaughton here . Go, now, GO!

Spaghetti Western

Poster, Illustration, Movie

Dave's mom is passionate about Western movies. She's got endless collection in her apartment AND in the storage. She always talks about her favorite leading man, Gene Autry every time we see her. A long time member, she'd spend hours at the Autry National Center here in Los Angeles. Although, she'd tell us that Spaghetti Western is different than the regular Western film, I think she'll appreciate this Spaghetti Western Inventory poster designed by Max Dalton:

Bookmarked as Christmas gift idea for her this year.
